Status
I am Lisa Herman. Since October 2023 I am working as a Teaching Assistent and PhD Researcher at Ghent University Department of Educational Studies, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ruben Vanderlinde. My doctoral research focuses on mentoring practices and mentor professionalization in the context of pre-service teaching practicum.
Research project
My doctoral research focuses on school-based mentoring in the context of pre-service teaching practicum. I study mentoring practices and how mentors can be professionalized to provide high-quality guidance to student-teachers. Previously, I conducted research and worked on projects regarding the impact of the physical learning environment, inclusive higher education and asynchronous video feedback to support effective teaching.
Background information
In 2017 I obtained my master’s degree in Educational Sciences at Ghent University. Before starting my PhD, I worked as a research assistant at the VUB and at Ghent University and as a policy officer at the Support Centre Inclusive Higher Education.
