My name is Nele Van Doren. In December 2019 I started as a doctoral student at Ghent University, under the supervision of Prof. dr. Ruben Vanderlinde (Teacher Education & Professional Development – Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences) and Prof. dr. Leen Haerens (Sports Pedagogy – Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences).
My PhD project focuses on the motivational teaching style of Physical Education (PE) teachers. Specifically, my research aims to gain theoretical and empirical insight into the measurement of this competency (including questionnaires and observations, the relations with outcome variables (including motivation and physical activity) and the improvement of a PE-teachers motivating style by considering different perceptions (teacher – student).
In 2019 I obtained my Master’s degree in Physical Education and Movement Sciences. In the same year I also obtained my Teacher Qualification for Secondary Education Ghent University.
